Sometimes I just want to pull out my hair in frustration! Well, if I had any anyway;) Did you hear what Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, Biden’s newest member of his USDA Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, recently had to say about weight loss? She is a Harvard graduate specializing in weight loss, so you’d expect her to know what she’s talking about. But in a recent interview on “60 Minutes” she mustered all her authority to declare that “The number one cause of obesity is genetics”, that diet and exercise have very little impact on the disease. It completely blew me away how someone that educated could be so ignorant, until I did a quick Google search and saw that her research focused “on the utilization of anti-obesity pharmacotherapy after bariatric surgery” (Wikipedia). Once again, “follow the money”!
But not only is her mainstream opinion tainted by the usual conflicts of interest, it also completely ignores the whole field of epigenetics. Knowledgeable scientists and physicians worldwide are now acutely aware that none of us are mere victims of our genes, but that nearly all of our common disease genes, including obesity, heart disease, and diabetes genes, are regulated – turned on or off – by environmental and lifestyle factors. This means that your fate is not “stamped on your butt” at birth, but rather is readily influenced by your lifestyle, including diet and exercise.
Notice I said “including”. That is because science has also proven that as important as diet and exercise are, they are not the only – not even the most important – factors influencing health and longevity, including the health and longevity of your teeth. This explains why there is so much confusion and contradictory information floating around out there and why so many give up in frustration. Too often “experts” get infected with tunnel vision, believing (or worse – crassly selling) that they’ve finally discovered the “secret”, the magical fountain of youth. At CHIP, we do things differently. We take a comprehensive approach, providing our participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current state-of-the-science regarding natural sustainable health as well as personal consultation and coaching to identify and implement the specific changes that will most benefit each individual.
So if you’re feeling frustrated, reached a plateau, or just don’t know where to begin, let us know. We can help you move farther along that “road less traveled”. Guaranteed:) On the other hand, are you feeling pretty good? Your favorite doc just gave you an “all thumbs up”? It should come as no surprise that if so many experts don’t have a clue how to properly prevent disease, they may not know how to properly test for or predict it either. Why do you think so many “healthy” people unexpectedly drop dead? Let me ask you this – Is your doctor willing to guarantee that you won’t have a heart attack or stroke? Yes? Then you probably have a good one. No? Well, you should know that mine does! It all begins with out-of-the-box informed testing. The first of which is usually a specialized scan of the lining of your arteries looking for any sign of inflammation. And guess what, we can do that right here for you. It’s called a cIMT scan. Simple, non-invasive, no needles, no pills.
So, here’s the bottom line. Any of you who are serious about your health need to do one of two things right away; 1) either call and ask about our CHIP program, or 2) call and schedule a cIMT scan. Either way, your heart, your kidneys, your brain, your waist, and your teeth will thank you!
